The Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) is the peak not-for-profit, multidisciplinary association of environmental practitioners across Australia and New Zealand.
In a submission responding to the Housing Supply Regulation Interim Report, EIANZ supports faster and more predictable approval pathways, but argues that fast-track approval should not mean reduced environmental or heritage standards. Instead, biodiversity, heritage, lighting, noise and other considerations should be built into planning earlier, supported by clear, evidence-based standards and better strategic evidence.
